MEET IRON CHEF MING TSAI

Most kids love to play with their food, Chef Ming Tsai never grew out of it. His early explorations of what made food delicious started in his parents’ Mandarin Kitchen restaurant and launched Ming on a global tour to discover culinary traditions and techniques.

Whether studying French cooking and pastry in Paris or training with sushi masters in Japan, Chef has been sharing his love of food and revolutionary East-West style at his renowned restaurants and through his TV talents on air for over 30 years.

Chef has mastered the art of turning a world of great tastes into food that nourishes us best. Through it all, he never forgot where he came from. So now you too can enjoy his craveable culinary creations at home.

A CHEF ON A MISSION

After his wife had a major health scare in 2017, Chef’s family decided to transition to a mostly plant-based and gluten-free diet with the hope of lowering inflammation by using food as medicine.



With his chef background, Ming knew that he could create delicious options for his family. However, when he went to the grocery store in search of quick meal options, he was disappointed by the variety and quality of the plant-forward options on the market.



It was in that moment that he recognized a new mission outside his restaurants. As he developed meal options to help his wife heal, he would also help people find alternatives to American classics that nurtured the body, delighted the taste buds and were easy to make at home. With that, MingsBings was born.

We are actively involved in the missions of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Family Reach through support with fundraising initiatives, event food donations and patient surprise & delights.

As President and Board Member of Family Reach, Chef Tsai has spent the past 13 years bringing the mission to life and raising over $11 million in the process.
